New: Seven Angels
Hem donated the song "Seven Angels" to the album Joey's Song, Adult CD Volume 1, which is available now. This album is the only place to get this song. Go get it!. As discussed here in the news on Nov. 15, sale proceeds going to the Epilepsy Foundation in honor of Joseph Gomoll, who died at age 4 after suffering from Dravet’s Syndrome, a rare form of epilepsy. You can find lyrics to "Seven Angels" here, read more about thr song's creation in this 2009 Hem blog post, and find a permanent link to this album on the discography page in the compilations section.

All About Me
Today is All About Hem's 7th birthday. Seven years! I can hardly believe it. Thanks to everyone who has visited the site over the years. Extra thanks to everybody who's sent me news, photos, or general emails of Hem goodness - it's really helped keep me going. Another year of thanks also to Geof, my favorite web host. The biggest thanks, of course, go to Dan, Gary, Sally, and Steve of Hem for their music, their generosity and humor, and their constant support of this site and of me.

Tape Op Magazine
The current (Nov/Dec 2010) issue of Tape Op Magazine has a long interview with frequent Hem contributor Dawn Landes. She talks a lot about recording (it is a music recording magazine, after all), including about the studio she has with Hem's Gary Maurer. Check it out! You can get the magazine for free, or you can buy a single issue, at the magazine's website.
Random Disography Updates
I added a few online-only, alternate-version Hem songs to the discography page. First is "Receiver" live, recorded June 23, 2005 in Reading, England (photo at left - click for more). It was briefly streamable at Hem's MySpace page starting in October 2005. Second is a demo version of the Rolling Stones song "You Can't Always Get What You Want," which is currently streaming at Hem's Facebook page (scroll down and look on the left for the music player). Third is a collection of live songs currently available for free download at Hem's music page: "Betting On Trains" (UK, 2005), "Hollow" (UK, 2005), "Carry Me Home" (MPR radio, 2005), and "Tennessee Waltz" (Asheville, 2003).
