Upcoming New York Concert
The set times for Hem's Saturday, November 3 show in New York just changed from what's been posted on the tour page for some time, so I wanted to post notice in the news to help bring people's attention to the new times. Doors are still at 6pm, but opener April Smith starts at 8, and Hem plays at 9. If you're going to be there, let me know and say hello!

Hem album news x 2!
Check out Hem's blog entry today to read an analogy that puts Hem on Wild Kingdom and, even more importantly, to learn about two new projects: 1) an album of original tunes, and 2) a collaborative album of 42 songs inspired by Mark Twain's book The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (or at least its chapter titles). The first project doesn't have a name yet, but the second is deemed "You Don't Know About Me Without You," which is a play on the book's first line ("You don't know about me without you have read a book by the name of 'The Adventures of Tom Sawyer'; but that ain't no matter."). Stay tuned for more information!

Hem on TV
If you think you heard Hem's song "The Part Where You Let Go" on the October 7 finale of the Lifetime television show Side Order of Life, you did! Sorry that this news wasn't here beforehand, but apparently the show aired before originally expected. If/when the episode reruns, I'll hopefully be able to give advance notice so you can see how the song was used on screen in a probably angst-driven way (in contrast to the TV ad).

For The Kids 3 CD
Hem contributes an original, rollicking tune called "No Hiding Place" to the compilation For The Kids 3, in stores and online shops today. Sale proceeds go to VH1's Save The Music. You can see a larger version of the cover image by clicking on the preview to the left or by visiting the discography page. Lyrics are on the miscellaneous lyrics page, which just got a small overhaul with the addition of sources for the live, unreleased, and other miscellaneous tracks.
Discography Update
The six bonus tracks available for download in September/October 2004 at Hem's site if you pre-ordered Eveningland there are now on the discography page. I think they used to be there but got lost during one redesign or another. Oops and sorry! (Thanks, Dan S.!)
