Video of "St. James Infirmary" in London

Journey back to Hem's lovely October 11, 2013 show at Union Chapel in London with this video of Hem performing "St. James Infirmary." If you were there with me, you know that Sally recorded the band debuting their cover of this song, and now the video is here for everyone. Yay! More About the New Hem EP

Breaking news: Hem's upcoming EP is called The World Is Outside, after one of the tracks on the EP. The full track list is below, as well as on the EP's new discography page. The discography page also has a larger version of the album cover and trivia about some of the songs, including why some names may sound familiar to you but are not necessarily what you've heard before. Stay tuned for a release date!

New Hem EP in November

Good news! Hem has an EP coming out next month. It has four new songs plus one you may have heard before. I can neither confirm nor deny that the familiar song is "Identical Snowflakes," but it is a winter/holiday song that has never been released except quietly as a standalone digital song. Here's a live version of it from last year.

July 21 New York City Show

Hem will be performing in New York on Monday, July 21 as part of NYC: Broadway Stands Up for Freedom, which is an event for the New York Civil Liberties Union. The event is at the Skirball Center for the Performing Arts, and you can buy tickets here. Hem is one of many performers and is slated to do one song.

Dawn Landes Album

Dawn Landes, who you know from her background vocals on many Hem albums, and as opener for Hem at many Hem shows, has a new album out today. It's called Bluebird, and it is lyrical, heartbreaking, and great. Buy it! (iTunes & Amazon)

All About Me

Today is All About Hem's 10th birthday! TEN! I had no idea when I started this site that it would still be here 10 years later. A big thank you to everybody who has visited the site over the years, with special thanks to Hem's team at Nettwerk and to everybody who has sent me news, photos, and words of appreciation and encouragement. Thanks also to Geof, who has so nicely web hosted All About Hem for most of its life. As always, the biggest thanks goes to Hem, especially Dan, Gary, Sally, and Steve. I really had no idea when I started this site that I would ever interact with anybody in the band, but what a happy surprise that I can now call them friends. Thank you for everything, Hem!
